My name is Crystal Powers, and I’m a disabled veteran with more than a decade of experience in real estate in Michigan. Along with my real estate background, I spent 20 years managing employees and inventory in the auto industry, where I was responsible for setting up new assembly lines. My experience includes managing complex projects and working with diverse teams—skills I honed over nearly 30 years, including my time in the Marine Corps serving in Kuwait during Operation Iraqi Freedom. I also earned a Bachelor's in Business from a Michigan university, using my GI Bill, which has strengthened my ability to lead and make sound business decisions.
Our real estate journey started from our own experience with homeownership. Despite having a stable income, we struggled to secure a home due to our credit. The issue wasn’t our ability to earn—it was our credit. Traditional lenders turned us away, and we felt ignored by the system. Our story isn’t unique. Many homeowners find themselves in similar situations, feeling overlooked and unsure of where to turn for help. This experience pushed us into real estate, where we hoped to become the people we once needed.
As Realtors, we quickly realized there was a gap in the market. Homeowners facing foreclosure, tax auctions, or needing costly repairs often don’t know where to go. Furthermore, many homes needed significant repairs or cleanouts to sell for a fair price, but Realtors were limited in what they could offer. That’s when we decided to create Legacy Pathways—to offer homeowners more than just advice, but a complete solution to homeowners in need.

We live in Palmyra, Michigan, situated between Adrian and Blissfield, on a piece of land where we raise livestock and grow our own food. It’s been almost eight years since we moved to Lenawee County to be closer to our aging parents. The land offers us the space to live self-sufficiently while being close enough to Adrian for any shopping or services we can’t produce ourselves. This lifestyle reflects our values of community, independence, and supporting local businesses—values we carry into the work we do at Legacy Pathways.
